Doing the Marathons for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Nashville & San Diego!

Initially I just wanted to do a marathon and I had the oppertunity to do so with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program. It was good because a) I always wanted to do a marathon and b) I began working at the hematology department @ NYU's Cancer Center. SO I was helping the patients I was working with.

Through my first months of training & my new job, I befriended a couple of the patients. I saw how the various blood cancers had taken some of their lives away but also I saw how some of those lives had been saved. I'm not a doctor (not yet atleast), but atleast right now I know I can raise money for research by running.

Just as some of these people dont want to get up in the morning for their 3 hour chemotherapy, I dont want to get up and run my 10 mile run. However, they get up and go...so I get up and go. The money I raise will be used to hopefully find better medications and treatments so I can help them in their battle.

My plan for 2007 is to raise a total of $22,000 for the leukemia & lymphoma society. I am running 6 endurance events to raise the funds.
